Brushed Metal Plaque
Tutorial
This was inspired by Dizz's Pipe tutorial. This tutorial was
created and put on this site on April 12, 2002. For this tutorial you
will need: Open a new image: Set your selection Place your cursor at 30,30 and draw down to 470,275 giving you a rectangle 440 x 245. Set your selection tool at: Hold down your Ctrl key. Place your cursor at the top left corner of your rectangle (30,30), click and drag so that you draw out a circle that is 99 x 99. It is fine if it goes off the edge. Let up your clicker finger and then Ctrl key and now you have the corner cut out. Now repeat for each of the other 3 corners at the x's (470,30 and 30,275 and 470,275). Don't forget to hold down the Ctrl key each time. Set your foreground Styles box to gradient with these settings: Flood Leave selected. Selections > Promote to layer. Effects > Noise > Add > 50%, random or uniform > ok. Effects > Blur > Motion Blur > Angle 90, 20 pixels > ok. Selections > Select none. Colors > Grey Scale. Colors > Increase Color Depth > 16 Million Colors. Layers > Merge > Merge visible. Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel > Metallic preset > ok.
