This tutorial was
created and put on this site on April 16, 2002. For this tutorial
you will need:
Open
a new image: Add a new layer and name it background fill. Set your foreground styles box to null and your background Styles box to
pattern at these settings: Using your flood Add a new layer and name it text. Select your text You will get a pop up box to create your text in. Use a wide font set at at large size and have floating and antialias checked. Selections > Defloat. Add a new layer and name it cut out. Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout > these settings: Add a new layer and name it highlight. Effects > 3D Effects > Drop shadow > these settings: Selections > Select none. Now you will want to play with the opacity of the highlight layer and get it the way you want it to look. I have lowered the opacity of my highlight layer to 80. Turn off your blank layer and the background fill layers. Layers > Merge > Merge visible. Turn your other layers back on. Now you can use your mover tool and position your cutout text. Finish with your favorite Inner Bevel and save in your preferred file format. Thanks for trying my tutorial.
