Animated Glitter Letters

Terms
of Use
For this
tutorial you will need:
Paint Shop Pro ~ download
a trial version.
EZ Glitter tile in layer format ~ made
from my tutorial.
Open a new
image:
500 x 200 pixels
Transparent
16.7 Million colors
Activate your font
tool.
These are my
settings:
Create as vector
Font Arial Black
Size 48
Stroke width 2
Anti-alias checked
Align center
Foreground color use a dark color from your tile, I am using #C16D6D.
Background color white.
Set your text.

Size your text to
fit the window by pulling the corner points.
Object > Align
> Center in canvas.

Right click inside
the vector bounding box and Create Raster selection.
In your layer
palette right click on the vector layer and convert to raster.
Activate your
glitter tile.
You should have
three layers to your tile.
In your layer
palette activate your glitter1 layer.
Edit > Copy.
Edit > Paste
> Paste as new image.
In your layer
palette activate your glitter2 layer.
Edit > Copy.
Edit > Paste
> Paste as new image.
In your layer
palette activate your glitter3 layer.
Edit > Copy.
Edit > Paste
> Paste as new image.
You can now close
your 3 layer glitter tile.
Activate your
letters image.
In your layer
palette right click on the layer with the letters and duplicate
twice.
You should now have three layers with the letters on them.
And your selection ants should still be marching.
Rename each of
these layers:
g1
g2
g3
Selections >
Modify > Contract > 2 (this would be the same as the
stroke width of your lettering).
Activate g1 layer.
Activate your flood
fill tool and set the foreground to:
Pattern
First of the glitter tiles
Angle 0
Scale 100
Fill the selection.
Turn off g1 by
clicking on the eye in the layer palette.
Activate g2 layer.
Activate your flood
fill tool and set the foreground to:
Pattern
Second of the glitter tiles
Angle 0
Scale 100
Fill the selection.
Turn off g2 by
clicking on the eye in the layer palette.
Activate g3 layer.
Activate your flood
fill tool and set the foreground to:
Pattern
Third of the glitter tiles
Angle 0
Scale 100
Fill the selection.
Turn on g1 and g2
by clicking on the eyes again.
Selections >
Select none.
Start up
Animation Shop.
In Psp.....
With g1 active, Edit > Copy.
In
Animation Shop, Edit > Paste > As a new animation.
Back to
PSP, activate g2, Edit > Copy.
In
Animation Shop, Edit > Paste > after current frame.
Back to
PSP, activate g3, Edit > Copy.
In
Animation Shop, Edit > Paste > after current frame.
Still in
Animation Shop....
Edit >
Select all.
Animation
> Frame properties > Display time > 10 > ok.
View >
Animation.
File >
Save as > yourfilename.gif.
