Page 2 Set your background to gradient. Set your gradient to: Select your shapes tool and set at: At the top of your ornament draw a rectangle about 60x25. Objects > Align > Horz. Center in Canvas. Right click on the vector layer and convert to raster. Rename this layer Cap. You may need to align the cap vertically so that it matches up with the edge of the ornament.
If you would like to give your cap a bit of texture now would be a good time to do it. On your layer palette you have a tab that is for layer groups. (It has little boxes on it.)
Click on this tab. You will see that beside each layer it says None.
On the layer with the cap, click once on the None and a number 1 will appear. Now go to the layer with your ball on it, click once on the None and the number 1 will appear. Click back on the Appearance tab to get you back to the normal view. What we just did is grouping the layers. So now when you move one the other will move with it. Using your mover tool drag your ornament down a bit in the image. We need to use the room up top for the hanger. See how the cap moved with the ornament? Your background should still be set at the gradient. Click the small arrow that is between the Styles boxes and now you should have the gradient in the foreground box and the background box as null. Select your shapes tool and set at: Draw an oval about 25x15. Right click on the vector layer and convert to raster. Rename this layer Ring. Layers > Arrange > Send to bottom. Using your mover tool move the oval so that you only see the top half above the cap.
