Foreground still set to the gradient.

Select your draw tool and set at:
Freehand
line width 3
Antialias & Vector checked
Line style solid
On the second tab (Draw Options) set your curve tracking to 5.

Draw an upside down J.

Select your Object Selector.

Right click on your hook and choose Node Edit.

The top of the curve nodes you want to change to symmetrical and work them into a nice smooth curve.

If your right click on your hook and choose Quit Node Edit you can take a look at how you are doing.

Go back into node edit.

Add a node right above the bottom one.  Grab the bottom node and drag it down lengthening it.

Set the added node to cusp (it may already set at that).  Bring the bottom node up and to the left side of the straight line.  Pull out and rotate the right side adjuster for the added node to round it out.  Pull the added node down below the ring. 

Shorten the left side adjuster of the added node to straighten out the vertical line.  Go through each node and fine tune your hanger.

When you are happy with it, right click on the vector layer and convert to raster.

Activate your ring layer.

Selections > Select all.

Selections > Float.

Selections > Defloat.

Activate your hanger layer.

Using your erasure tool set at:
Round
width 3
hardness 100
opacity 100
step 25
density 100

Erase only one side of the bottom loop of your hanger so that it looks like it is looping around the ring.

Selections > Select none.

Zoom in - I chose by 5.

Add a layer above the ring layer.

Set your foreground to solid black, background still set at null.

Select your draw tool and set at:
Single line
line width 1
Antialias checked
Vector UNchecked
Line style solid

Draw a small line just under the edge of the hook - for a shadow.  Like where the red line is:

Effects > Blur > Guassian blur > 1.

Activate the ring layer.

Selections > Select all.

Selections > Float.

Selections > Invert.

Activate your shadow layer.

Hit the delete key once.

Selections > Select none.

Activate your ring layer.

Effects > Inner bevel > ww-ornament preset or these settings:
Bevel  Rounded
Width  14
Smoothness  31
Depth  12
Ambience  0
Shininess  12
Color  White
Angle  315
Intensity  40
Elevation  30

Activate your hanger layer.

Effects > Inner bevel > same settings > ok.

Turn off any background layer you might have.

Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.

Add a background and save in the format to your liking.
