This is a beginners tutorial for
TerraGen
and simple way to showcase the rendering made in PSP.

For this tutorial you
will need:
PSP 7 ~ download a
trial version.
TerraGen v0.8.44 ~ download
here.
Eye Candy 3 ~ free download no longer available.
If you do not want to do
the TerraGen part of this tutorial go to Part 3 and use the provided rendering.
Start up TerraGen.
Open your Landscape
window.
Click on Generate Terrain.
You will get a pop up window like the one below.
Increase the Smoothing to around 75 then click on the Generate Terrain button
then click Close.

(Click for larger view.)
Open your Rendering Control
window and set your Detail slider to the middle mark, this will speed up our
previewing.
Click on Render Preview.
Set your Fixed Height to around 500.m.
(This is all subjective - depends on what your terrain is like and no two
terrains will look alike.)

(Click for larger view.)
Move the apex of your camera into a dark area of the landscape.
(I have enlarged this screen shot so you can see where the apex is on the camera
position.)
