For this tutorial you
will need:
PSP 7 ~ download
a trial version.
Woodgrain & Pinwheel textures ~ download here.
(Unzip into your PSP Texture
folder.)
Selection files ~ download here.
(Unzip into a convenient folder.)
Color chart ~ grab
it here.
(Right click and save it then
open in PSP.)
This tutorial uses no
plug-ins.
This tutorial is not difficult but has a lot of steps and layers. I do not
name my layers but I would advise you name them. The easiest name to use
is that of the selection you are about to use on that layer.
This tutorial is
graphic intensive, please allow the pages to load completely.
Ok let's get crackin'!
Open a new graphic:
320
x 600 pixels
Resolution 150.000
Transparent
24 Bit
File > Save as >
nutcracker.psp
Every couple of steps be sure to hit your save
button.
Add a new layer.
Selections > Load from
disk... > find your unzipped folder > body.sel > open.
Set your foreground color to
black.
Flood
fill the selection.
Selections > Modify >
Contract > 2 > Ok.

Set your foreground color to #C00000
and background to #800000.
Set your Styles boxes to solid
for both and set your background Texture box to Woodgrain2.

Below your color pallet show
look like this:

Click once inside your
selection with the left mouse button and then once with the right mouse
button. What you are doing is filling with your foreground color then
overlaying it with the textured background color.
Selections > Float.

Effects > 3D Effects >
Cutout > these settings:

-11
Opacity 47
Blur 73.7
Color Black |
