Lacey Easter Eggs This tutorial was created
and put on this site on January 15, 2003. For this tutorial you will
need: Open a new image: Set your foreground to null and your background to solid, with your choice of color. I am using #FC9C9C (pink). Set your shapes tool to: Start in the top right and draw an egg about 270 x 350 (third set of numbers at the bottom). The size is not critical, just draw out a nice big egg! Objects > Align > Center in Canvas. In the layer palette right click on your vector layer and convert to raster, rename this layer egg. Selections > Select all. Selections > Float. Selections > Defloat. Add a new raster layer and name it lace. Flood fill this selection with your lace color. I am using #EDE3D3 (ecru). Effects > Plug-in filters > Screenworks > Fabric Weave. Effects > Plug-in filters > Transparency > Eliminate Black. Selections > Select none. Image > Resize >
these settings: Effects > Reflection effects > Pattern > these settings: Effects > Geometric effects > Perspective-Vertical > -64. Activate your egg layer. Selections > Select all. Selections > Float. Selections > Invert. Activate your lace layer and hit the delete key. Selections > Invert. Add a new raster layer and name it shadow. Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout > these settings: Add a new raster layer and name it highlight. Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout > these settings: Selections > Select none. In your layer palette right click one of your layers and Merge > Merge visible. Make eggs playing with the settings in Pattern. Enjoy!
