POP? Art
This tutorial was
created and put on this site on July 17, 2003. For this tutorial
you will need:
First we will make our mask. Open a new image: Activate your Selection tool. Click on the Custom selection button in the Tools Option palette. Top & Left 0 Flood fill the selection with solid white. Add a new raster layer and flood fill with solid black. Selections > Select none. Image > Mirror. In the Layer Palette, right click on the top layer and duplicate. Image > Mirror. Image > Flip. Activate the bottom layer, right click and duplicate. Image > Mirror. Image > Flip. You should now have a large black and white checkered board. Right click on any of the layers and Merge > Merge all. Add a new raster layer. Activate your Selection tool. Click on the Custom selection button in the Tools Option palette. Top & Left 125 Flood fill the selection with solid gray, I am using #808080. Selections > Select none. In the Layer Palette lower the opacity to 50. Right click on either layer and Merge > Merge visible. Now your mask is ready for use. Go ahead and save it to your mask folder as a .jpg then minimize the mask. Open an image of your choice or you may use the one I am using by right clicking on the image below, copy, then in PSP paste as a new image.
