For this tutorial you will need:
PSP 7 ~ download
a trial version.
Sweetheart Gradient ~ download here, unzip into
your gradients folder.
Heart Shape ~ download here if needed, unzip
into your shapes folder.
This shape set comes from Designing
Dames.
Open a new image:
300 x 400 pixels
Transparent
16.7 Million colors
File > Save as > shflower.psp
Make sure to hit your
save 
button every couple of steps.
Add a new layer, name it stem.
Set your foreground color to #4F894F and your background color to null.
Select your draw 
tool and set at:
Bezier Curve
Width 4
Basic line
Antialias checked
Place your cursor at 150,160 and click and drag to 150,390.
Click once on the right side towards the top and once on the left side down towards the bottom.
