This tutorial was
created and put on this site on August 8, 2002. For this tutorial you
will need: Open
a new image: View > Zoom in by 5. Set your colors to: Set both styles boxes to solid. Using your shapes tool
set at: Draw a rounded rectangle about 11x11. Grab the bottom right corner, hold down the ctrl key and bring the node in. Grab the top right corner, hold down the ctrl key and pull the node out.
Right click on the vector layer in the Layer Palette and convert to raster. Effects > Texture
Effects > Weave > these settings: Set your background #C00000 and foreground to null. Using your shapes tool
set at: Draw a small star about 13x13. Click on the object selector. Right click on your star and choose node edit. Right click on each of the outside points, node type, and change to symmetric nodes then grab one end of each node adjuster handle and extend it a bit to round out the "petals".
Right click and quit node edit. Right click on the vector layer in the Layer Palette and convert to raster. Make another "flower" using a lighter color as your background, I am using pink - #FFA3A3. Using your shapes tool
set at: Draw a small star about 13x13. Click on the object selector. Right click on your star and choose node edit. Right click on each of the outside points, node type, and change to symmetric nodes then grab one end of each node adjuster handle and extend it a bit to round out the "petals". Right click and quit node edit. Grab the rotation handle and rotate your second flower so the petals are offset from the first ones.
Right click on the vector layer in the Layer Palette and convert to raster. Move the lighter flower into position on top of the first flower.
Change the background color to yellow, I am using #FFD143. Using your shapes tool
set at: Draw a small circle about 5 x 5 in the center of your flower. Right click on the vector layer in the Layer Palette and convert to raster. Set your background to null and your foreground to green, I am using #68BE68. Using your draw tool set at: Draw a line that starts in your pot and goes up into your flower.
Right click on the vector layer in the Layer Palette and convert to raster. Layers > Arrange > Send to bottom. Using your draw tool set the same draw a small line that goes from the stem out. Refer to the screen shot, the red line is the path I drew my line on.
