Gallery Setting
This
tutorial was created and put on this site on April 18, 2004. For this tutorial
you will need: I learned how to
make Shadows on the Wall from Jaci at The
End of Magic.
Open a new image: Activate the selection tool and set at rectangle, feather 0 and anti-alias UNchecked. Select bottom two-thirds of the image. I started at 0,200 and went to the right and down. Flood fill with
the Dark Gold gradient, set at: Effects >
Texture effects > Mosaic-Antique > these settings: Selections > Select none. Now you want to
widen the image so that you see the non work area.
Activate the deformation tool. Hold down the Ctrl key and grab the bottom right adjustment node, stretch the image out to the right. Grab the bottom middle adjustment node and bring the image up. I brought mine up about 300 pixels. Again hold down the Ctrl key and grab the bottom right adjustment node, stretch the image out to the right. Activate the mover tool and drag the floor down to the bottom of the image. You can now bring the sides of the image back in if you wish.
Rename the raster layer, floor. Activate the magic wand and set at feather 0, tolerance 0, anti-alias UNchecked. Click inside the area that does not have the floor in it. Selections > Modify > Expand > 1 > ok. Add a new raster layer and name it wall. Fill the selection
with the Winter gradient set at: Selections > Select none. Open a new image: Flood fill the new
image with the Winter gradient set at: Effects > 3D
effects > Inner bevel > these settings: Edit > Copy. Activate the gallery image. Edit > Paste > Paste as new layer. Using your mover tool position the molding at the wall and floor intersection. Now we will add our glass. Bring the glass image back up, copy and paste as a new layer into the gallery setting. Using the mover tool position the glass on the floor.
Rename this layer, glass. Proceed with making a shadow according to Jaci's instructions. Shadows
on the Wall Don't worry - I will be here when you get back. Now that your shadow is done we need to merge the layers. Layers > Merge > Merge visible. Image > Illumination effects > Lights > ww-gallerysetting. Now your gallery image is ready for use!
