Terms
of Use
For this
tutorial you will need:
Paint Shop Pro ~ download
a trial version.
Super Blade Pro ~ download the demo version.
SBP Preset ~ download and unzip into your SBP enviroments & textures
folder.
Open a new image:
500 x 200 pixels
Transparent
16.7 Million colors
Select your text tool.
Set the foreground to null
and background to solid white.
Add your text using a bold
font and set at create as vector.
These are the settings I
used:
Futura XBlk BT
Size 72
Stroke 0
Anti-alias checked
Objects > Align >
Center in canvas.

(I filled the background so that viewing is easier.)
Right click inside the
bounding box and create raster selection.
In the layer palette right
click on the vector layer and convert to raster layer.
Effects > Plugins >
Flaming Pear > Super Blade Pro > ww-silveremboss2 preset.
Adjust > Hue &
Saturation > Colorize > hue 0 and saturation 0.
Adjust > Color Balance
> Manual Color Correction > set the source to #858585 and the
target to the color you want your text, I am using #C00000.

Selections > Modify >
Contact > 4 > ok.
Selections > Promote
selection to layer.
Activate the original text
layer.
Edit > Clear. (Or just
hit the delete key on your key board.)
Selections > Invert.
Selections > Float.
Selections > Defloat.
Adjust > Add/Remove
Noise > Add noise > 25% uniform, Monochrome checked > ok.
Adjust > Sharpness >
Unsharp Mask > these settings (default):
Radius 2.00
Strength 100
Clipping 5
Selections > Select
none.
Right click on the promoted
layer and duplicate.
Adjust > Blur >
Gaussian Blur > 0.75 > ok.
Turn off all layers except
the two promoted layers.
Right click on either of
the promoted layers and Merge > Merge visible.
In your layer palette set
the opacity of your newly merged layer to 60-70.
Turn your outline layer
back on, right click on either layer and Merge > Merge visible.
Now your text is ready to
be saved in your choice of formats and for use.
