Terms of Use
For this
tutorial you will need:
Paint Shop Pro 8 ~ download
a trial version.
VM Filters ~ download
here for the two needed for this tutorial,
or if you would like the full set - download
here (3.35mb)
Mask ~ download here, unzip into your PSP Masks folder.
An image ~ download &
unzip the one I used or use one of your own.
Open your
image.
Shift+D
twice - this should duplicate your image two times.
Close the
original image.
Effects
> Plug -ins > VM Distortion > Flipper > default
settings.
Effects
> Plug -ins > VM Distortion > FlipChop> default
settings.
Minimize
this image.
Set your
styles boxes - one of them to solid fill white and the other to
pattern, your chopped up image, angle 45, scale 50.

> Add Borders > these settings:
Pixels
1 symmetric

> Add Borders > these settings:

4 symmetric
Choose a medium color from your image, I am using #848450.
Remember this color by copying the number or adding it
to your swatches.
Select
your magic wand and set to 0 tolerance and feather,
anti-alias unchecked.
Click
inside your 4 pixel wide color border to select.
Selections
> Invert.
Effects
> 3D effects > Cutout > these settings:
Vertical & Horizontal 0
Opacity 100
Blur 15.0
Shadow color black
Fill interior UNchecked
Selections
> Invert.
Add
a new raster layer.
Flood
fill the selection with white.
Layer
> Load/Save Mask > Load from disk >
ww-glitterfill1, fit to layer & Source Luminance
selected > load.
For
a lighter look leave as is, for a darker look Layers
> Invert Mask/Adjustment. I like the darker
look with this image.
Selections
. Select none. |

Same chosen medium color as before.
With
your magic wand select the 10 pixel wide color border.

fill the selection with white.

Color black
