Stamped Metal Text This
tutorial was created and put on this site on September 7, 2004. For this tutorial
you will need:
Open a new image: Set your foreground to null and your
background to gradient with these
settings: Select your text tool and
set your text. These are the settings I used: You can grab the outside
adjuster nodes and stretch the text to fill your image.
Objects > Align > Center in Canvas. Select the Object Selector tool, right click inside the bounding box and Create Raster Selection. Selections > Load/Save Selection > Save Selection to Alpha Channel > Save. Selections > Select none. In your layer palette, right click on the vector layer and convert to raster. Effects > Art Media Effects > Charcoal > these settings: Set your foreground color to white. Effects > Artistic Effects > Hot Wax Coating. Effects > Artistic Effects > Chrome > these settings:
Add a new raster layer. Selections > Load/Save Selection > Load from Alpha Channel > Invert UNchecked, Load. Set your foreground to gradient with these settings: Flood fill the selection with the gradient. Selections > Select none. Set the blend mode for the top layer to Color (L). Right click on the top layer and Merge > Merge down. If you would like to add a Drop Shadow this is what I did... Effects > 3D Effects
> Drop Shadow > these settings: Your text is ready for use.
